Gun ownership up, crime down
In 2010, the Supreme Court struck down the handgun bans that were in place in Chicago and Washington, D.C., which the mayor of Chicago predicted would lead to many violent crimes.
William LaJeunesse reports that while gun ownership is at an all-time high, statistics say that crime is down in these areas. He went on to say that gun advocates believe that this is because when law-abiding people have guns, criminals think twice about using theirs.
