An important message to young gun enthusiasts
- and the adults who care about them
Most people get their "education" about firearms from movie and TV.
Real life is very different.
You can't take a bullet back and carelessness with firearms can lead to tragedy.
Every single time you handle a firearm:
1. ALWAYS assume all firearms are loaded. Check and double check - and check again.
2. NEVER point a firearm - even for a split second - at anything you don't intend to shoot. ALWAYS be aware of where the barrel of the gun is pointed.
3. ALWAYS when you do shoot, be 1000% sure of your target and make sure you know exactly what is behind and beyond your target.
4. ALWAYS put away firearms you don't intend to use in an unloaded state.
5. When training, ALWAYS use wear eye and ear protection. Hearing damage is cumulative and it only takes one mishap to cause serious eye damage.
It's cool to be careful. It's cool to be precise. The best gunmen and ladies treat firearms with serious respect.
If you find a gun and don't know what to do with it, leave it where it is and get a trusted adult to take care of the situation for you.
