Bill Caffrey, of the Handgun Club of America, addresses microstamping.

It is a scheme to require firearms, every time they fire a cartridge, to mark every bullet to determine the serial number of a gun. Serial number in hand, the police want to be able to track us all.

When you use a firearm, it creates a lot of pressure and wear and tear. Very quickly those microstamping markings will wear down. California's legislators were short-sighted enough to push the technique, on behalf of one company's inane racket.
