Cutting Through the Red Tape
A Class III firearm is actually a Title II firearm that you would buy from a Class II dealer, despite popular jargon. These are any weapons that you would need to register under the National Firearms Act.
A Title II "firearm" can include a suppressor, or silencer; a shotgun with a barrel shorter than 18 inches; and any rifle with a barrel less than 16 inches in length. This is also what you need to do to get an automatic assault rifle.
You need a clean criminal record and be someone that the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms would approve.
And sadly, you need $200.
