The citizens of Athens, Tenn. led a rebellion to reestablish their voting rights after the fat cats tried to burn the Constitution in their faces.
The fat cats were the Cantrells, who were willing to use violence and intimidation in order to maintain their stranglehold on McCinn County. The Cantrells did whatever they could to keep black people from voting -- and the vote counting that did occur secret.
Little did they know that you should never mess with a veteran of World War II . . .
